Magic Muse 2024
Introducing to you all to the - muse of all muses!
She’s an incredibly inspiring woman, who is using her talent and voice to make an impact in the lives of others through her creativity.
It’s been a journey of perseverance, passion and a unique blend of experiences to become a writer and performer for Samantha Munt, well-known by her title, S.K Munt.
From a young age, Samantha knew she was going to be a writer and a performer, and she wasn’t going to let anyone tell her that it couldn’t be done.
After many years of balancing dreams with day jobs and late nights, Samantha has never given up on herself and never deviated from the path she knew she wanted to be on.
Her greatest accomplishments come in the form of her four beautiful children, married to her best friend and becoming a self-published author, having penned 33 novels to-date and five stage shows. In her spare time, she can be found at rehearsals for her local theatre groups and she’s involved in.
Samantha openly reflects on the journey she’s foraged ahead with.
Growing up with little money, Samantha knew she’d never be able to afford dance classes or university to help her attain her dreams.
“I’ve had to find a way to learn the skills I need to make my dreams happen on my own.
“When I couldn’t afford singing lessons, I went to karaoke and did that until I felt confident enough to audition for the Comedy Players. I even joined a cheerleading and gymnastics as an adult in order to get as many skills as I could while reading and writing every chance I got on the side.
“I’ve stayed up through the night thousands of times in order to get dances learned, lines down and books finished, and sometimes it’s all three in one night. And when I needed things like cover art done when I couldn’t afford a professional, I worked at it to learn how to do it myself.”
Samantha’s happiest of happy places is when she is writing shows especially when she can narrate the female-lead roles. In fact, the first stage show she wrote, featured nine equal female leads.
“When I first started doing theatre, I noticed how much easier it was for men to get roles than women as there are always so many male roles, so I started writing shows that featured many females parts.”
Samantha is also the kind of woman who is everyone’s cheerleader and she wants to see others around her succeed. She will write parts for people in her shows that aren’t confident enough for bigger companies just to help them build their confidence.
Samantha believes in women celebrating the small wins and in order to do this you’ve always got to be taking steps forward – that way if you get knocked back a couple, it’s harder to notice.
“The sky’s the limit for what we can make of ourselves, if we put our mind to it.”
