Is it real life or reel highlight?

I have often spoken about whether it is real life or reel highlight, during some of my speaking engagements
And it something I need reminding of from time-to-time.
Like most people, when I am scrolling, I can find myself a bit like Alice falling down a rabbit hole.
But instead of finding Wonderland, I am a bit like the Mad Hatter, second guessing, doubting myself and comparing my life to the life of those highlight reels on social media.
I get a bit lost, and it is often more about comparing my life to all the amazing things, experiences, followers; along with the fabulous wardrobe, talents and beauty of another person.
And it puzzles me, that despite trying and working on my own self esteem and positive self talk, I still find myself comparing my real life to someone else reel life.
And to be frank real life is messy, tangible, a living breathing masterpiece in progress, and the other is a curated highlight, a snapshot of a moment in time - one that captures only one part of the story.
There are so many pieces to the puzzle, so many chapters to our story. We are lucky to have the best of both words the real life moments, that lead to a reel highlight.
They are not just reserved for some, but for all, we all have our time in wonderland where we celebrate achievements, share happiness and kindness.
Sometimes we need a little reminder, even a different perspective to know that we all have real lives and I am pretty sure all of us are going through or doing hard things in life.
We are not alone and at times social media, for all its content and information overload gives the illusion of company, but it isn't.
That is found in the people you choose to send time with who love you and are the ones you create the highlight reel with.
At the end of the day we choose who are part of our lives real life and curated reels.
Big love,
